Honest Folk is not a music festival, though sometimes it looks like one. Brian is not a promoter, but he loves bringing his favorite, nationally touring contemporary folk musicians to Rochester. It is not a charity, though a percentage of all ticket sales goes to support the Center for Youth, an organization that helps teenagers transition from homelessness to a safe spaces with opportunities to succeed. Every event is zero-waste-to-landfill. There are about seven performances a year in downtown spaces. Other than the world-class musicians traveling through, the experience is local: local food trucks, local breweries, local coffee shops, local sponsors, and local music lovers coming together in intimate settings to share the experience.
